Using Ice at Games and Training

Do you always have ice at games and training sessions in case of player injury? We all mean to have it on hand but in reality very few coaches actually are able to make it happen. Maybe they have it on the bench for games but not for training or some other sporadic schedule.

However players get hurt at all types of game or training situations and in order to give them the best possible chance of healing quickly we as coaches and trainers need to have ice on hand for immediate first aid for injuries.

Instant cold packs are a handy and simple solution. However research has shown them to be mostly ineffective in treating injuries due to the fact they do not get cold enough and do not last long enough to do any real good other than a little pain relief.

Rather you should have on hand real ice and a way to wrap it on the injury and compress for first aid. We use Wet Ice and we recommend it to all of our customers and coaches we come into contact with everyday.

Check it out, it works great, lasts a long time, and is easy to use.
